How the Chalice Program Works:
Here’s a simple breakdown of how your family can be a part of this special ministry:
- At Mass: Every two weeks, during a designated Mass, a pre-assigned family will be called forward by the priest.
- Receive the Chalice and Blessing: The priest will present your family with the consecrated Chalice, a prayer portfolio, and a special blessing for your commitment to prayer.
- Bring it Home: You’ll take the Chalice and prayer portfolio home. We encourage you to place the Chalice in a place of honor within your home as a visual reminder of your family’s commitment to pray for vocations.
- Daily Prayer: The prayer portfolio contains helpful prayers and information about vocations. For the next two weeks, during your family’s regular prayer time (whether it’s in the morning, at bedtime, or during meals), you’ll dedicate your prayers to an increase and perseverance of vocations.
- Return and Share: After two weeks, your family will bring the Chalice and prayer portfolio back to the church office so another family can continue this chain of prayer.
