“Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit”

Our Program
SEAS uses Chosen: Your Journey Toward Confirmation, a 24-lesson program that leads teens through the richness and vitality of the Catholic Faith.
Through Chosen, students will:

- Participate in videos, activities, and group discussions
- Explore their faith through workbook materials
- Grow in confidence as Catholic disciples
- Build relationships within the parish community
The program strives to win hearts at this critical time in young people’s lives so that they remain firmly planted in the faith community of the Church.

About Confirmation
What Is Confirmation?
Many people mistakenly view Confirmation as “graduation” from religious education, merely a cultural passage into maturity or an opportunity to choose whether or not to remain Catholic. Yes, a candidate does choose whether to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and does, upon reception of the sacrament, step toward maturity (and yes, mandatory classes often do come to an end), but none of these facts captures the heart of Confirmation.
Like all sacraments, Confirmation does more than symbolize a spiritual reality; the sacraments actually bring forth the spiritual realities they represent.
During Confirmation, the candidate is anointed with sacred chrism and hears the bishop proclaim:
“Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
The same Holy Spirit who was poured out upon the apostles at Pentecost seals and strengthens the newly confirmed to live their faith and courageously proclaim the truth.

“Confirmation is a sacramental outpouring of the Holy Spirit that leaves a permanent imprint on the soul, completes Christian initiation, and empowers us to be witnesses to Christ“
(see CCC 1302–1305)
Parent Involvement
Parents are an essential part of each candidate’s Confirmation experience. A parent/child orientation meeting is required at the beginning of the year.
Chosen also includes at-home readings, activities, and conversation prompts that help parents remain involved throughout the preparation process.
Confirmation Retreat
All Confirmation students are required to attend a Confirmation retreat before receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Retreat details and dates will be shared with registered families.
Confirmation for Adults
Adults age 18 or older who are interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation should visit the parish’s OCIA page:
