Edge Middle School Youth Ministry
Edge at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church is our Catholic youth ministry program for students in 6th–8th grade.
Middle school is a season of big questions, new experiences, and growing independence. At Edge, we meet young people where they are, listen to what is happening in their lives, and welcome them into a fun community where they are known, valued, and encouraged.

What We Do
Through engaging Catholic formation, prayer, small groups, games, and community, students are invited to encounter Jesus Christ, ask honest questions, and discover how the Catholic faith connects to their everyday lives.
As their faith grows, we encourage young people to put it into action at home, at school, in the parish, and in the way they love and serve others.
Our hope is that every young person leaves Edge knowing that Christ knows them, the Church has a place for them, and they can join in a mission to bring His love to others.

Our Fall 26 Program

This semester, Edge will help middle school students discover what it means to love their neighbor as Christ calls them to.
Using the Fourth through Tenth Commandments, students will connect Catholic teaching to real-life relationships with family, friends, classmates, and others in their community.
Our goal is to help young people encounter Christ, grow in charity, and live their faith through the way they love and serve others.

What if my child still needs Sacraments?
What if my child still needs Sacraments?
Youth ages 12–17 who have not been baptized or have not received First Holy Communion should participate in OCIC (Order of Christian Initiation for Children) for sacramental preparation. If they have received baptism and First Communion, they may participate in our high school Confirmation class to prepare for Confirmation.
They are also warmly encouraged to participate in Edge or Life Teen at the same time. Edge and Life Teen provide community, faith formation, and opportunities to encounter Christ, while OCIC provides the focused preparation needed to receive the Sacraments and become fully initiated into the Catholic Church.
Is youth ministry the same as sacramental preparation?
Is youth ministry the same as sacramental preparation?
No. Edge and Life Teen are ongoing youth ministry experiences focused on community, discipleship, and growing in relationship with Christ. Youth who still need Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation may also need to participate in a separate sacramental preparation process.

No. Edge and Life Teen are open to all youth, including those who are not Catholic or are simply exploring the faith.
Because these are Catholic youth ministry programs, families should expect a strongly Catholic environment rooted in the teachings, prayer, traditions, and sacramental life of the Church. All young people are welcome to participate, ask questions, and learn more about the Catholic faith.
