High School Ministry
Life Teen at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church is our Catholic youth ministry program for students in 9th–12th grade.
High school students are navigating important questions about identity, relationships, purpose, faith, and their future. Life Teen begins by meeting teens where they are: listening to their experiences, questions, doubts, hopes, and welcoming them into an authentic Catholic community.

What We Do
Through engaging formation, prayer, small groups, community, service, and opportunities to encounter Christ, teens are invited to move beyond simply learning about the faith and toward making it their own.
As their faith grows, we encourage young people to put it into action at home, at school, in the parish, and in the way they love and serve others.
We socialize, pray, and grow together in community.
Our hope is that every young person leaves Life Teen knowing that Christ knows them, the Church has a place for them, and they can join in a mission to bring His love to others.

At Life Teen, high school students have opportunities to:
-Encounter Jesus Christ and deepen their personal faith
-Explore Catholic teaching and ask meaningful questions
-Build authentic friendships with other Catholic teens
-Grow in prayer and participation in the life of the Church
-Discover their gifts, purpose, and call to discipleship
-Serve others and learn how to live their faith beyond the parish
Our Fall 2026 Program
Number One: Putting God First
This semester, Life Teen will invite high school students to consider what holds first place in their lives and what it means to put God at the center.
Through Scripture, Catholic teaching, prayer, and conversation, teens will explore who God is, how He draws near to us through Jesus Christ and the Church, and what it means to live from their identity as beloved sons and daughters of God.
Our goal is to help teens encounter Christ, deepen their faith, and live differently because of that encounter—in their friendships, families, relationships, and everyday choices.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child still needs Sacraments?
Youth ages 12–17 who have not been baptized or have not received First Holy Communion should participate in OCIC (Order of Christian Initiation for Children) for sacramental preparation. If they have received baptism and First Communion, they may participate in our high school Confirmation class to prepare for Confirmation.
If they participate in Edge or Life Teen at the same time, they will only need to attend one OCIC class a month to get sacrament formation. Edge and Life Teen provide community, faith formation, and opportunities to encounter Christ, while OCIC provides the focused preparation needed to receive the Sacraments and become fully initiated into the Catholic Church.
Is youth ministry the same as sacramental preparation?
No. Edge and Life Teen are ongoing youth ministry experiences focused on community, discipleship, and growing in relationship with Christ. Youth who still need Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation may also need to participate in a separate sacramental preparation process.
Does my child need to be Catholic to attend?
No. Edge and Life Teen are open to all youth, including those who are not Catholic or are simply exploring the faith.
Because these are Catholic youth ministry programs, families should expect a strongly Catholic environment rooted in the teachings, prayer, traditions, and sacramental life of the Church. All young people are welcome to participate, ask questions, and learn more about the Catholic faith.
