Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio is an ecumenical, Christian organization working in partnership
with God’s people in need to build modest, decent and affordable homes without interest or profit.
Habitat works with low-income families who would not otherwise be able to afford a home. They are
not a charity or a “handout” program, but rather help families help themselves. Once accepted, first
time homebuyers are eligible to buy a home from Habitat with a 20 – 25 year zero percent interest
mortgage. Families spend a minimum of 300 hours investing in “sweat equity” where they support and
help build their home and the homes of their neighbors. Monthly payments average $675 (including
taxes and insurance). As of September 2021, HFH of San Antonio has built affordable homes with 1200
families in need. This year they will build 51 homes for 51 low-income families.
We are partnering with Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church to make a family's dream of home ownership come true!
